vintage jewelry chest, velvet lined box w/ ring tray colonial style tea caddy design

Vintage lacquered wood jewelry chest with velvet lined interior, made in the style of an early American tea caddy. This is marked Korea, I believe it was probably made for one of the museum reproduction catalogs like Williamsburg, or maybe The Bombay Company?

It's about 10 1/2" x 6" x 6" overall. The hardware is solid brass, but I have no key. I'm not actually sure that it's a working lock?

Interior velvet is a deep burgundy red (darker than my photos here), very clean. Lid liner drops down when the box is closed, I don't see anything like screws or hardware that might have held it in the lid originally? So I think it's just supposed to stay stuck inside the lid.

The high gloss lacquer finish looks great, just a few light scratches, no chipping or wear. This box is lovely little piece to hold your treasures.
