working vintage wall clock, retro 70s live edge wood slab polished cypress or myrtle redwood

Battery operated wall clock, 70s vintage, very shiny varnished wood slab with natural edge, organic shape. This is about 20" long top to bottom. I'm not sure what kind of wood this is?

Clock keeps good time, though the hands show wear. Battery compartment is nice and clean. There's a few marks and scratches to the finish, not terribly noticeable - this looks very good overall.
