Occupied Japan vintage lacquerware tray, gold painted lacquer metal Maruni ware

Large lacquer ware serving tray with hand painted gold, marked Maruni - Made by Hand in Occupied Japan. This is about 14"" across the rim.

The surface looks very good, glossy with just a few small marks. Bottom (underside) of the tray has some scratching. I think this is too beautiful to use for cocktails, but would make a great piece of wall art.
