antique brown transferware china, Parisian granite ironstone tiny tureen Washington pattern Meakin
more photos of this product belowHere's a sweet little soup tureen, Washington pattern Alfred Meakin 'Parisian Granite' china made in England. This just looks like the classic Meakin ironstone to me - I don't really see anything French about it!
It's not in the best of condition, as there's a repair to the handle on the cover, and a lot of spotting on the bowl and cover. The repair isn't terribly noticeable, and I don't think that age spots and a little staining really detract from a piece like it.
And the itty bitty size makes this unusually cute, and great for display. It's about 8" long overall. Brown transferware patterns are so collectible, and lovely to mix with blue transferware, or simply plain white ironstone.
