antique farm field tool, vintage machete or corn knife w/ old wood handle

Primitive old wooden handled machete corn knife, from a farm estate in northern Illinois. The blade isn't marked that we could see, but looks to be in good shape with just a few shallow nicks. The blade measures 2 3/4" across the widest point and 14" long (27" long end to end, blade with handle). The wood handle shows wear.
