antique vintage etched glass and silver plate basket for candy or flowers

Lovely pin etched glass basket with silver plated metal handle and rim (marked silverplate). This is 4 1/2" tall overall, a nut dish or bonbon basket?

There's some tarnish and / or wear to the silvering, the glass looks excellent without chips or cracks.
