1880s aesthetic period Kioto chinoiserie brown transferware china platter, old English registry mark
more photos of this product belowHuge, beautiful brown transferware platter with aesthetic period design, late Victorian era. This is an ivory china with naturalistic design of birds and Asian inspired florals, Kioto (Kyoto). The registry mark dates to the 1880s, I'm not sure what the 'Late Mayers' refers to.
This measures 16" long x 12" wide across the rim - big enough for a Thanksgiving turkey, or to use as a tray. No chips or cracks on this piece, very little scratching or discoloration though it's almost 150 years old.
