Antique fabric panel with elaborate hand woven pattern. This is a mid to late 1800s piece of homespun, in very good condition.
This is out of an estate in north central Wisconsin, it came to me with a hand written tag marked 'from the old country', it's either French or Swedish from this estate.
I'm not sure of the fiber here - it's linen I think, but possibly hemp? Color is natural, a grey toned off-white. It's soft, fairly thick, in good supple condition with just a little discoloration on the fold lines.
One end has been hemmed, the other is the raw edge as you can see in the photos. It's about 31 1/2" wide, and about the same in length, with the fringe edge beyond that.
