antique yellow ware stoneware crock, 1930s vintage cookie jar USA pottery hand painted flowers

1930s vintage stoneware crock (probably a cookie jar I think, though it's shaped more like a bean pot!) Nice and heavy, this measures about 9 1/4" across the handles and stands about 7" tall. No makers marks, American made.

There's wear to the hand painted trim and floral pattern - it's all surface paint, not under glaze. You could possibly just scrub all the paint off if you want the very minimalist look that's so popular right now.

I think the paint gives this piece a very vintage feel, it's lovely old thing just as it is. Shows wear and crazing, a few glaze pops and an old chip to the lid.
