Set of twelve vintage made in Japan china plates with a two birds or doves
mark on the reverse. These are all painted completely by hand. It's a set of
salad or dessert plates, 7 1/2" in diameter.
We found these packed away with a note saying these were brought home from Japan in 1946.
That seems about right for these pieces, and they're obviously been treasured though the years, barely used and carefully kept, though they were cheap souvenir type pieces.
There's a number of maker's flaws and small chips just painted right over originally - it's really amazing that work of this detail could be produced at all in the midst of such turmoil!
