Late 1800s Alfred Meakin English transferware china biscuit jar, Oban pattern. This is heavy white ironstone with flowers in a beautiful dark blue color, slight flow to the design.
This measures about 6 1/4" tall overall, 7" across the handles on the jar. It's nice and clean inside and out - the original gold on the jar is worn away from cleaning, gold on the lid looks nice.
The china has crazing and some spots and foxing, but no chips or cracks. Not bad at all for a piece well over 100 years old.
