Beauiful and unusual old forged steel knife with a wide rounded end, curving blade and tang. The wood handle is all original, missing one of the star shaped rivets but still held firmly in place.
This has no makers marks that we could find, we're guessing later 19th century or very early 20th century vintage based on the type and style of manufacture.
This measures 15" long end to end, 13 1/2" down the metal of blade and tang. Blade extends 9" from the handle. There's use and a few nicks to the blade, no excessive wear or sharpening, or any especial damage.
It came to us in the collection of an antique dealer from western Wisconsin, we don't know anything of its history before that. Crock in the photos is not included, I just had to have something bigger than a plate rack to hold it up!
