1800s vintage antique table cover, fabric penny rug circles w/ hand stitched embroidery
more photos of this product belowBeautiful and very unusual primitive style table 'rug' out of a very old farm estate in the Horicon Wisconsin area. This is very late 1800s or very early 1900s vintage, all handmade with hand stitching, lots of embroidery.
It's circles of scrap and 'rag' fabrics of all sorts, some cotton calicos, some shirtings or wools. These are sewn on to a very old hessian sacking, measuring about 27" x 43' overall.
This has a few small holes and one large mouse hole where one of the 'pennies' is missing. There's a little moth damage to some of the wool fabrics - but overall, it's in clean condition, not bad except for the mouse hole! Doesn't look too difficult to repair, you'd need to make a new penny out of your own old fabrics.
