antique English Staffordshire chinese import style china jug, copper luster polychrome flow blue
more photos of this product below
Mid 1800s vintage English Staffordshire china pitcher (mark probably John
Tams, 1860s). This pattern is called Shanghai, and is made in the colors of
the Chinese export porcelain of the period.
It's a scene of Chinese gentlemen in multi colors with the blue showing
noticeable flow. The top of the pitcher is banded in copper luster color
typical of this mid 19th century Staffordshire.
This is showing some age discoloration, a chip to the spout, two hairlines
from the rim - one long and one short.
