old Dickens scenes, vintage Staffordshire china dishes
more photos of this product belowTwo small square dishes, with scenes from the works of Charles Dickens. Both are about 4" x 4". We aren't sure what these are made to hold - salts for salt dips? candy or nut dishes? butter pats? tea bag holders? Or maybe these were pin trays, or just collector's pieces?
One is not marked with the name of the scene it depicts, but is marked on the reverse Lancasters Ltd. English Ware - Hanley England. This one has discolored crazing, and a faint hairline.
The other is Sairey Gamp from Martin Chuzzlewit, marked on the reverse New Hall - Hanley Staffordshire England. No condition problems to this one.
