hand-painted fruit, large round pottery cookie jar, 1940s vintage

Large round pottery cookie jar, made in the USA, 1940's or possibly 1950's vintage. It's about 10 1/2" tall. The cooky jar is a matte off-white color, with handpainted fruit design of strawberries, apples and pears.

There's a large flat chip to the inside of the lid, but no other chips or cracks, and the color looks good, without browning. There's a little bit of wear to the painted decoration, mostly to the knob on the lid.
