vintage Mexican pottery, Aztec style hand painted red clay terracotta plates & bowls

Beautifully made vintage Mexican pottery plates and bowls - two 7" bowls, one 8 1/2" bowl, one 9 1/2" plate in this lot. These have a very detailed hand painted border which looks like something typically described as Aztec, though I don't know the actual origin of these pieces.

I've only found one other example of a design like this, in the internet archives of the Field Museum. These pieces aren't marked or signed at all that I could see, but I think they're late 20th century. Vintage, not antique. All four pieces are in very good condition, no wear, no chips or cracks.
