vintage spelter horse statue, antique cast metal figure for mantle clock

Vintage spelter horse figure - originally a clock or lamp statuette? The horse measures 11 3/4" x 10". The old gold colored finish is very worn, showing the base metal beneath, a dull grey pot metal color.

We're not sure how this was originally mounted - please look at the photos of the feet. It may be damaged, or made this way, to raise a foot very slightly in a more natural appearance? There are no other cracks, splitting or chipping to the metal.
