scandinavian country vintage hand-carved primitive wood animals

Lot of six vintage wooden animals, all handmade. We got these from a dealer in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin, and think they most likely came out of an estate in that predominately Scandinavian area. We love these, even though the original finish is worn, the wood is smooth and the shapes are great, we just can't stop playing with them.

None of the animals are marked, and we haven't been able to find out anything more about them. They are cows, sheep and goats, we think... at least that's what we've been calling them! We have no idea whether they would have come from Sweden or Norway, or if they were made by a talented wood carver here in Wisconsin. They've seen a lot of wear, and have dings all over, as well as the wear to the finish, and a couple of scribbles in marker. They might have been made as toys?

The largest (a cow-like animal) measures 8" long, and the smallest (a horned goat) measures 2 1/2" long. The wood we think is a soft maple, rather than a pine?
