antique Tea Leaf pattern white ironstone china w/ copper luster, mug cups with deep saucers
more photos of this product belowAntique Tea Leaf pattern ironstone china, early 1900s vintage. This lot is a 'set' of two cups and two saucers - the cups aren't an exact match, and neither are the saucers - but they've been together for around 100 years and we're leaving them together.
The cups are big, and you could use them as mugs. The 6" diameter saucers are the deep bowl shape popular with farmers and other hearty folk of the late Victorian period, as they would pour tea or coffee from their cups into their saucers to cool it. And then drank their tea from the saucer!
Saucers (unsurprisingly) are very worn and scratched, with a number of small old chips to the rims. The cups have fared better and look pretty good overall.
