vintage tea tin canister set, black japanned tole tins w/ gold painted Japanese characters

Set of five vintage Japanese tea tin canisters, all with hand-painted characters in gold. (I'm sorry, I don't recognize this character, at least not in it's hand painted form!)

These are made in two different styles - the smaller canisters are 6 3/4", 7 3/4" and 8 1/2" tall. The two larger canisters are 10 3/4" and 12" tall.

All have light scratching and wear, mostly to the painted finish on the exteriors. The insides are nice and clean overall.
